The technologies include hybrid cutting action combining tungsten carbide insert outer rows and mill tooth inner rows, elastomeric components engineered to provide improved resistance to attack by common completion chemicals.
SlipStream also uses high-energy journal-bearing sealing system and pressure attenuation journal bearing design.
According to the company, an outer cutting structure along with a tightly spaced inner cutting structure with DuraClad mill tooth technology provides different drilling actions targeted to the assorted materials within the frac plug.
Varel president Michael Reeves said that the SlipStream product family is an improvement to the company’s offering of products for completion and workover drilling.
