The LNG project is located on the estuary of the River Ob within the Yamal Peninsula where temperatures remain at sub-zero for the most part of the year.

The valves being supplied for the project have been put through rigorous manufacturing processes and tested under cryogenic conditions.

According to Weir, a total of highly specialised, fast-track safety valves with advanced designs were developed for this project.

Approximately 185 valves were supplied within a 22-week turnaround period to meet critical installation and start-up schedules of the project.
