
Ireland-based outsourcing company Accenture is set to implement predictive analytics for maintenance and process-control in production operations across Woodside’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) assets, including the Pluto LNG Plant, as part of an extended agreement.
By working with Accenture, Woodside will make analytics a key part in decision-making; establishing models specifically to drive proactive maintenance strategies.

The company will also support decisions to improve production, safety as well as risk management capabilities.
The Australian oil and gas company, Woodside will have access to Accenture’s statistical modelling, data management and visualisation software and its engineers at any time using new applications.
Woodside strategy, science and technology senior vice president Shaun Gregory said: "By harnessing more than 30 years of leading LNG operational experience through predictive analytics we are enabling our people to access extensive analytical insights that are expanding our decision-making capabilities and enhancing our ability to be predictive in our LNG operations."
Accenture said it will use its experience in oil and gas industry to contribute delivery capabilities for advanced analytics solutions to Woodside.

Accenture energy industry group managing director Paul Carthy said: "This approach will support Woodside’s journey in digital transformation and its future vision for intelligent operations.
"The predictive and process control analytics models are designed to deliver valuable business insights and drive increased performance and proactive maintenance strategies, ensuring Woodside’s position as a leader in digital energy."
The total area of the Pluto LNG Plant leases for the onshore facility is about 200ha, of which the plant and associated infrastructure cover about 80ha.
