Global technology and engineering firm Emerson has entered a multi-year agreement with Brazilian integrated energy company Petróleo Brasileiro (Petrobras).
Emerson will provide its managed hosting services to support Petrobras in enhancing deepwater operations efficiency and productivity. These will also allow Petrobras to reduce costs and help improve geoscientists’ subsurface understanding capability.

These managed services will streamline the engineering firm’s exploration and development (E&P) software deployment. It will provide capabilities such as high-performance and remote desktop data management for office and field locations.
The hosting services will be a complementary addition to Petrobras, as the E&P software will allow Petrobras IT staff to focus on improving business processes and other services.

By GlobalDataEmerson will provide and manage dedicated servers and associated hardware infrastructure on behalf of Petrobras. Emerson noted that data management, configuration and optimisation access will be performed remotely.
The Brazilian oil company has been using Emerson’s E&P software for more than 25 years.
The service options included in Emerson E&P Managed Hosting Services software are infrastructure, application and data management services. Additional Emerson technologies used by Petrobras include interpretation and modelling, reservoir characterisation, seismic processing and formation evaluation.
