UK-based oil and gas company SDX Energy has discovered gas at its KSR-16 development well on the Sebou permit in Morocco.

Drilled to a total depth of 1,896m, the KSR-16 well encountered 14.2m of net conventional natural gas pay in the Hoot formation.

The well is expected to be connected to the existing infrastructure and placed on production within the next 30 days.

The company will now move the drilling rig to the ELQ-1 prospect on the Gharb Centre permit and drill the first commitment well on the recently acquired licence.

It has a 75% working interest in the permit.

According to the company, the recently completed KSR-15 well has been connected to the existing infrastructure.

Test production at the well is expected to begin next week.
