The company is expected to complete this initial drilling programme in mid-2020.
The contract includes an option to extend it for up to two years from the start date.
The latest agreement will build on the existing relation between Senex and Easternwell over the years in the Cooper and Surat basins.

By GlobalData“With the construction of the gas processing facilities on schedule and drilling to start in May, Senex is on track to deliver first sales gas from Roma North mid-year and from Project Atlas by the end of 2019.
“These developments will achieve a step change in production, cashflow and earnings for Senex and deliver much-needed gas to the East Coast market.”
Senex has received all necessary regulatory approvals across Project Atlas and Roma North, including the environmental permit from the Queensland government for Atlas last month.
Last June, the company reached an agreement with infrastructure provider Jemena to build, own and operate the Project Atlas that will connect gas from the Senex acreage with the former’s existing Darling Downs Pipeline.
Meanwhile, civil works and pipeline construction in relation to the Roma North gas processing facility have been completed. Commissioning of the facility is planned for the middle of this year.
In preparation for the proposed drilling programme, Senex has progressed construction of the well lease pads.
