Norwegian offshore service company Solstad Offshore has secured contracts for its platform supply vessels (PSVs) in Norway.
The company has secured a ‘medium-term contract’ for its Normand Serenade PSV from German gas and oil producer Wintershall Dea to support the latter’s Deepsea Aberdeen rig drilling operations in Norway.

Solstad said that this contract is a call-off from the existing frame agreement.
The contract will commence during the first quarter of next year for a duration of two wells firm, along with five well options.
Wintershall Dea will use the ‘Deepsea Aberdeen’ jack-up rig on exploration wells at Dvalin North and Bergknapp fields. This rig will also be used for development wells at Vega field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
Furthermore, as part of the frame agreement signed with Aker BP, Solstad’s Normand Arctic PSV secured the contract for three months. There is also an additional three-month option.

Solstad noted that Normand Arctic was also fixed by an undisclosed Charterer for one well, securing work for the jack-up rig until work on the Aker BP contract begins.
Last month, Petrobras awarded Solstad Offshore a one-year contract extension for the RSV Far Saga vessel. This vessel has been operating in the Brazilian waters since 2014.
