Canadian energy company Valeura Energy has declared the natural gas flow test at the third stimulated zone in Inanli-1 well in Turkey’s Thrace Basin as successful.
The positive production test results at the third zone in the appraisal well were announced with its partner Equinor.

The third zone was accessed through intervals at depths 3,899m – 3,925m and 3,855m – 3,876m.
The test has shown that the gas from this zone has an average condensate/gas ratio of 30 barrels per million cubic feet (bbls/MMcf). This is richer in condensate than the deeper zones tested in Inanli-1.
However, there has been a decline in water production rates during the course of the test. It was recorded at approximately 130bbls/d in the last 24 hours of flow.
Valeura commenced reservoir stimulation and testing operations at the Inanli-1 appraisal well at Thrace Basin in June. It aims to test at least four zones at the Inanli-1.

By GlobalDataIn a statement, Valeura said: “All tests to date have been completed without any safety or environmental incidents. Flaring has been minimised with almost all of the produced gas being sold into the company’s infrastructure. This third test has now concluded and the company is currently preparing the well for the stimulation and testing of the fourth zone of interest.
“Data gathered through the stimulation and testing programme will help define the company’s next steps to demonstrate the commerciality of its 10 Tcfe (286 BCM) of unrisked gas resource, including 236 MMbbl (32 MMtonnes) of condensate, net to Valeura.”
