German crude oil and natural gas producer Wintershall Dea and offshore oil and gas digitalisation software provider Eigen have extended their digital collaboration for production engineers at the Brage oil field in the Norwegian North Sea.
The Brage field lies in the northern part of the North Sea at a depth of 140m.

In addition to providing the visualisation and integration platform for real-time data in the company’s Microsoft Azure cloud technology, Eigen’s Ingenuity service will deliver further functionality for Wintershall Dea’s Brage engineers.
The expanded capabilities enable additional functionality for oil and gas production forecast visualisation, weekly production planning, monitoring and surveillance, as well as include an overview of the latest well test results, live test separator monitoring, sand production, erosion and injection monitoring, and weekly offshore production plans.
Wintershall Dea Digital Transformation subsurface lead Peter Dabrowski said: “This represents a significant step towards our Digital vision for Brage.
“By digitising the production surveillance processes, we have eliminated a lot of time spent with spreadsheets and integrated data from various operational data sources. Now our engineers have more time to focus on optimising production.

Ingenuity has been configured to allow digitalisation of integrated workflows.
According to Eigen, this should eventually remove the need for multiple spreadsheets, saving more of the engineers’ time.
Reservoir Engineer and Digitalisation Catalyst Peter Kronberger concluded: “I used to have to be in the office to access production data, but now I can easily do it from home. This possibility itself has made such a big difference to my ability to work remotely.”
Last month, Wintershall Dea discovered oil in the Bergknapp prospect, 8km west of the Maria field in the Norwegian Sea.
