The President of Guyana has confirmed that $51.2bn will be used to help with the new plant's development.
The country's drilling initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce reliance on fossil fuel imports.
The company's adjusted earnings per share of $2.06 fell short of Wall Street's $2.11 estimate, causing shares to drop more than 4% to $148.68.
The Permian Basin is expected to remain the primary focus of USEDC due to favourable drilling economics.
The acquisition, valued at $210m, is expected to contribute $30m–60m of adjusted EBITDA annually.
This acquisition will see GCX jointly owned by subsidiaries of Kinder Morgan and ArcLight, with operations managed by a Kinder Morgan subsidiary.
This marks the first implementation of Leucipa in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically in the JV's offshore operations in the Niger Delta.
The project will utilise Baker Hughes' liquefaction solutions, power generation equipment and gas compression systems.
