The proposed JV will produce 300,000boepd, with plans to increase this to 500,000boepd.
This acquisition includes a 32% non-operated working interest in the P111 licence, which contains the Culzean field, and exploration licence P2544.
The contract, valued at around $140m (£105.56m), will commence in Q2 2026 and cover five wells in Egypt.
The agreement covers the Illizi South perimeter, located approximately 100km from the town of In Amenas, near the Libyan border.
The company is projected to contribute RM20bn ($4.7bn) next year, a reduction from this year’s RM32bn.
