Permian Basin-focused company Brazos Midstream has commissioned Sundance II, a cryogenic natural gas processing facility with a capacity of 300 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d), located in Texas, US.

This plant is the largest of its kind built by Brazos Midstream and forms part of the Sundance processing complex in Martin County alongside Sundance I, which started operations in 2024 with a capacity of 200mcf/d.

Sundance II represents a capital investment of $185m. The project qualified under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology and Innovation (JETI) programme in August 2025.

In addition to the Sundance II milestone, Brazos Midstream said that it has begun construction of a new processing site in Glasscock County, Texas. The complex will initially add Cassidy I, another cryogenic natural gas facility, which will also be able to process 300mcf/d.

Expected to be operational by the end of 2026, Cassidy I will increase the company's total processing capacity in the Midland Basin to 800mcf/d.

The establishment of this complex anticipates further processing demand from producer customers' drilling activities.

Brazos Midstream has arranged for grid power and other essential infrastructure to support timely expansion at the Cassidy site.

The company's gathering system is also being extended with more than 70 miles of high-pressure pipelines currently under development.

This expansion will serve constrained areas in Reagan, Glasscock, Midland and Upton counties, with completion projected for mid-2026.

By then, Brazos Midstream’s Midland footprint will encompass around 525 miles of gathering pipelines and 16 compressor stations.

The company's operations are supported by long-term acreage agreements over more than 375,000 acres with key Permian Basin producers.

Brazos Midstream CEO Brad Iles said: “In less than 24 months, we have executed on our growth plans in the Midland Basin, the most active and resilient oil and gas producing region in the US.

“As the largest privately held midstream operator in the Permian Basin, we are strategically positioned to support and grow alongside our producer customers and continue investing in midstream infrastructure that provides a more reliable and efficient path to market.”
