Oceaneering International's Brazilian subsidiary, Marine Production Systems (MPS), has won several subsea robotics contracts from Petróleo Brasileiro (Petrobras), with an expected total revenue of approximately $180m (976.44m reais).

The contracts involving offering remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and other specialised tasks are set to commence between the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025) and the first quarter of 2026 (Q1 2026).

The services provided under these contracts, including inspection, maintenance, repair and decommissioning activities, will support various Petrobras offshore projects.

Oceaneering will also offer survey services and assist with floating production storage and offloading hook-ups, mooring inspections and pile installations.

Each contract spans four years, with options for extension.

Oceaneering subsea robotics senior vice-president Martin McDonald said: “As a global leader in ROV services, we are excited to further expand our presence in Brazil. These contracts provide visibility into our backlog over the next several years, reinforcing our outlook for resilient offshore energy markets.

“This visibility also allows us to strategically plan and allocate resources, ensuring safe, consistent and reliable performance. We are proud to continue our support of Petrobras’ offshore projects and contributions to the development of Brazil’s energy sector.”

With a history of nearly 30 years of continuous operation in Brazil, Oceaneering has established a significant presence through MPS.

The company boasts several facilities including a centre for ROV, survey, subsea intervention tooling, and engineered solutions, an onshore remote operations centre in Macaé and an umbilical manufacturing plant in Niterói.

The announcement follows Oceaneering's recent success in securing a significant contract from ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Exploration Angola through its subsidiaries Oceaneering Angola and Oceaneering Marine Technologies.
