The deliveries under the agreement are expected to begin in 2028.

Thailand's PTT has signed a heads of agreement to supply Centrica with liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The deliveries under the ten-year agreement are expected to begin in 2028, with PTT supplying LNG across a range of destinations in Asia, on an ex-ship basis.

Centrica said the deal is a strategic move to expand its LNG portfolio and provides access to diverse markets in the continent.

The agreement also strengthens the relationship with PTT, a significant partner in the region.

It marks PTT’s first long-term LNG sales contract outside of Thailand, aligning with its international growth ambitions.

Centrica chief executive Chris O’Shea said: “We are proud to partner with PTT. This agreement supports our global LNG ambitions and is a testament to the strong partnerships Centrica has built in Asia. LNG is a key part of Centrica’s long-term strategy and will continue to play a pivotal role in enabling the energy transition.”

Earlier this year, Centrica signed a 15-year sale and purchase agreement with Petrobras, under which Centrica will supply 800,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG to the Brazilian oil and gas company, starting from 2027.

International energy and services company Centrica is planning to be a net zero business by 2040 and help its customers to be net zero by 2050.

In 2024, Centrica launched its new business and net zero business to help customers through the transition.

The company is planning to invest £4bn to 2028 in renewable generation, security of supply, and its customers.
