SLB OneSubsea has received a contract from China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) for integrated engineering, production and construction (EPC) across multiple offshore wells.

The contract includes the provision of integrated subsea production systems for 20 wells at the deep-water Kaiping 18-1 field development in the South China Sea.

SLB OneSubsea is a joint venture between SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7.

Under this contract, SLB OneSubsea is tasked with supplying subsea production systems that utilise standardised technology. This includes dual electric submersible pumps (ESP), gas lift and gas injection horizontal trees, manifolds, connectors and control systems.

The contract also entails support for installation and commissioning.

The standardised system by SLB OneSubsea aims to streamline subsea architecture, enhancing operational efficiency and facilitating potential future expansions of the field.

Moreover, the integrated delivery approach is intended to shorten installation timelines and reduce the need for offshore vessels.

Project execution will involve collaboration with local partners to bolster in-country manufacturing and supply chain capabilities. This strategy is expected to ensure efficient delivery and provide consistency for subsequent subsea projects.

SLB OneSubsea CEO Mads Hjelmeland said: “This award highlights the continued adoption of our standardised subsea systems, and the efficiency gains they can deliver on complex multi‑well projects.

“By applying proven designs and working closely with regional partners, we can help streamline execution and support effective delivery for CNOOC.”

Earlier this month, SLB OneSubsea obtained an EPC contract from PTTEP Sabah Oil, a subsidiary of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company (PTTEP), for a deep-water project offshore Malaysia. This contract expands OneSubsea's role in providing integrated subsea production systems for PTTEP’s deep-water projects in the region.

In August 2025, the company secured another EPC contract from Equinor to deliver a pioneering all-electric subsea production system for 12 wells at the Fram Sør field offshore Norway.
