Case Oil and Gas has executed a drilling contract with Nabobs Drilling to use the Nabobs Rig 4 for the Marian Baker #1 well on the Amazon prospect.

A 4,876m exploration test of this multi-segment prospect is expected to spud on 18 December 2010. The Oligocene target sands will be drilled to between 4,267m and 4,876m, where it is expected that an abnormal reservoir pressure of 11,000psi will be encountered.

Case Oil and Gas is the operator for the prospect, while Quest Petroleum, Tango Petroleum and Transfer Energy are its partners.

The Marian Baker #1 well is expected to encounter multiple potential hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir sections and will take about 50 days to reach its total depth.
