Logging data conducted last week indicated that the Roseneath shale intersection is closer to 200m thick compared with the expected 60m.

The well encountered positive gas shows while drilling, and cores were recovered from shale in the Roseneath and Epsilon targets.

A thicker target shale interval should provide greater flexibility to optimise fracture stimulation treatments because they will be more easily contained within the target interval, according to Beach Energy.
