Corrib Gas Partners have received a Foreshore Licence from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government in Ireland for the Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline.

Corrib Gas Partners, including Shell E&P Ireland, Statoil and Vermilion, will begin construction of the onshore gas pipeline in the coming months.

With five wells at the Corrib field and the offshore pipeline already in place, and the terminal at Bellanaboy also close to completion, Corrib Gas Partners are looking forward to completing the onshore gas pipeline, scheduled for 2013.

Corrib Gas will supply up to 60% of Ireland’s natural gas needs and will play an important role in the country’s energy security, according to Vermilion.
