Statoil, BP and Sonatrach have signed a $1.15bn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Petrofac International for the execution of the In Salah Southern Fields development project in Algeria.
The EPC contract is part of the phase II development of the In Salah licence.

Under the EPC contract, Petrofac will construct well pads, manifolds, flowlines and a new central processing facility (CPF) with a gas processing capacity of 17 million cubic metres a day.
The CPF will be constructed at the north side of In Salah and will be connected to the existing producing facilities located at the Reg gas field to transport the gas to Krechba CPF.
During phase I, the Krechba, Teg and Reg gas fields were developed to produce nine billion cubic metres of gas annually.
