Senex Energy has discovered a new oil field at the Vintage Crop-1 exploration well in Copper Basin permit PEL 516 in South Australia.
Senex has encountered a gross oil column of 10m with a 3m net pay in the McKinlay Member of the Murta Formation, along with oil at Sandstone and the Birkhead Formation.

The firm has conducted a drill stem test on the McKinlay Member, recovering 39 barrels of 54.6 API, light brown oil in a three-hour flow period, which is equivalent to a flow rate of 312 barrels of oil a day.
The Namur Sandstone interval will be tested after production casing has been run and coring of the Permian section has been completed.
