PetroFrontier has started drilling the Baldwin-2 well at block EP 103, which is located in the Southern Georgina Basin, Northern Territory, Australia.

The firm will drill the Baldwin-2 well with the unconventional Basal Arthur Creek hot shale as the primary target, and Hagen Member and Dolomitic Shoal and Thorntonia as secondary targets.

The well will be air drilled vertically to a depth of 900m to test the Thorntonia formation for prospective hydrocarbon shows, and will be logged, plugged back and deviated horizontally for about 1,000m into the Basal Arthur Creek shale.

According to a feasibility report, EP 103 is estimated to have resources of about 13.2 billion barrels of oil.
