Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) has finalised plans to award Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts for its Jubail joint venture refinery.
The contract includes the thirteen different process packages of the 400,000 barrel per day full-conversion refinery in Juabil, Saudi Arabia.

The refinery will utilise Saudi Aramco’s crude oil supply near Jubail and produce environmentally-friendly diesel and jet fuels along with 700,000t of paraxylene, 140,000t of benzene and 200,000t of polymer-grade propylene annually.
President and CEO of Saudi Aramco Khalid Al-Falih said: “Our commitment to fund a project of this scale demonstrates our confidence that energy markets will grow in the years to come.”
The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by the second half of 2013, SATORP said. SATORP was formed in June 2008 as a result of joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Oil Total.
