The development will facilitate sending offshore gas to onshore facilities for the first time. Adgas will operate and maintain the subsea pipeline after commissioning, reports Reuters.

Adgas deputy general manager Hasan al Marzooqi told the news agency that all offshore associated gas and integrated gas development packages are in the final stages of construction.

“The main focus for us is to satisfy our current contractual obligation for exports and to meet the local demand of gas,” Marzooqi said.

At present, Gasco is managing the engineering procurement contracts.
