Spain’s Gas Natural has imported 280,000m² of LNG to Italy this winter and plans more deliveries to increase its market share, the firm announced.

The deliveries to Eni’s Panigaglia LNG terminal in central Italy took place in four 70,000m² shipments with more in the pipeline, reports Reuters.

By increasing LMG shipments, the firm aims to boost its presence in the Italian market, which has potential in terms of its strategic location and energy needs.

Gas Natural has also announced plans to build an 8 billion cubic metre terminal at the northern Italian port of Trieste.
