The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) has restarted work on a series of associated gas-gathering (AGG) projects in the Niger Delta.
The $2bn-worth of projects cover 26 flow stations in the Delta where the company will upgrade or replace existing gas-gathering facilities or install AGG equipment at flow stations that are not yet covered.

SPDC managing director Mutiu Sonmonu said work on the delayed and new projects will further reduce gas flaring in its operations to the lowest practical volume.
“Security and funding conditions permitting, we have a real chance to progress our flaring reduction plans through these key projects,” Sunmonu said in a statement.
