Gazprom and technology provider Siemens have signed a deal to cooperate on liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology development.

The two firms also plan to carry out a number of joint development programmes under the MoU.

Gazprom and Siemens will work together on the development of a demonstration plant for LNG production based on the liquefaction technology Liquefin.

The firms will also carry out a study to evaluate the possibility of joint manufacturing of components for Russian LNG plants.

The two companies will also jointly review the framework of future phases of work at the Shtokman gas field in Russia.
