Iran’s seventh cross country gas pipeline for the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project is now in operation.

The 902km pipeline is the first phase of the proposed IPI gas pipeline project, known as the Peace Pipeline, which extends from Assalouyeh in southwest Iran to Iranshahr in the southeast.

The pipeline is also expected to transfer natural gas from the South Pars field to some southern provinces.

The IPI gas pipeline is a proposed 2,775km pipeline that will deliver natural gas from Iran to Pakistan and India.

The IPI route has been delayed several times because of price and political issues.
