Delta Petroleum has completed the sale of its oil and gas exploration and development assets to Wapiti Oil and Gas for $130m.

The non-core assets sold include Delta’s 31% working interest in the Garden Gulch field in the Piceance Basin of Colorado, all its working interest in the Baffin Bay field of Texas and Piper Petroleum.

The assets also include half of Delta’s working interest in DJ Basin fields and half of its working interest in Caballos Creek, Choke Canyon, Midway Loop, Newton, and Norian, all in Texas.

Acreage positions in the DJ Basin of Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska and other acreage in South Texas are also part of the deal.

Under the contract, Wapiti will operate the Newton and Midway Loop fields, and the other fields of Texas for which Delta was the operator.
