The productive interval was perforated from 4,730ft to 4,778ft and consists of porous carbonates within the evaporitic sequence of the South Gharib Formation.

The well, which is located in the Al-Amir Development Lease in the onshore North West Gemsa Concession, would be put to use once a production test and engineering system is completed.

Circle Oil has a 40% interest in the North West Gemsa Concession, which lies about 300km southeast of Cairo in a partially unexplored area of the Gulf of Suez Basin.

Production levels in the area range from 9,200 to 9,500bpd.
