Hardy Oil and Gas has made its fourth successive gas discovery in the exploration block KG-DWN-2003 / 1 (D3) of NELP-V in the Krishna-Godavari basin, India.
The fourth exploration well in the block, KGV-D3-W1, was drilled to a total depth of 3,501m at a water depth of 1,653m and encountered a gross gas pay zone of 37.5m in Pliocene aged sands.

The potential of the pay was evaluated and gas samples were collected, with further data gathering and analysis needed to ascertain the commercial viability of the discovery.
Hardy owns a 10% participating interest in the D3 licence, which is operated by Reliance and covers an area of about 3,288km².
