Qatargas has signed an agreement with Repsol Energy Canada to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The agreement involves Q-Max deliveries from the Qatargas 3 project and the LNG will be delivered to the Canaport LNG facility in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The LNG supply will be for three years initially, starting with the first delivery from Train 6 of Qatargas 3.

Qatargas CEO Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani said the deal provides access to the premium North East US market and Canada for the first time.

Qatargas’ Q-Max LNG carriers can deliver 266,000m³ of LNG in a single voyage and are the biggest LNG carriers in the world, said Qatargas.
