The plant will have an initial capacity of 100 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD), with plans to increase the capacity to 200 MMCFD through additional compression and refrigeration equipment when production increases in the basin.

Pioneer Natural Resources, Atlas Pipeline Partners’ business partner on the West Texas system, holds a 27.2% interest in the new facility.

Once complete, the Edward plant is expected to increase the West Texas processing capacity from 455 MMCFD to 655 MMCFD.

Atlas Pipeline Partners CEO Eugene N. Dubay said: "By the time Edward is fully implemented, our capacity will have more than tripled in West Texas in less than six years. We will continue to invest in our assets to serve our customers as opportunities arise to ensure we are the service provider of choice in the areas in which we operate."
