Bengal said the commissioning of the pipeline is significant because it enables production from the previously drilled eight Cuisinier wells to be
delivered to sales points through a pipeline, rather than trucking.

The company also said the eight wells flowed about 1,400-1,500 barrels of oil per day (bopd) during the launch phase.

The oil flowed will be processed at the Cook oilfield production and de-watering infrastructure with and is transported to the sales point through the Cook to Merrimelia Oil Pipeline.

The completion and tie-in work for the oil wells is expected to commence in July 2013 for the oil wells.

Bengal Energy president and CEO, Chayan Chakrabarty, said the pipeline connectivity will help optimise delivery of company’s oil to sales points, compared with trucking.

"Bengal will continue to work with the operator to ensure maximised production volumes are delivered," Chakrabarty added.

"Bengal continues to strongly believe in the potential of our acreage across multiple geological horizons on this block."
