Breitling Oil and Gas said the Pettus Sand in the North Fitzsimmons field area consists of upper, middle, and lower sands, of which the upper and lower have been previously exploited for gas and oil respectively.
The company said the Middle Pettus sand in the south-west corner of the lease acreage remains largely unproduced in the area.
The well is expected to reach the total depth in about six days and well completion and testing are expected to begin in the last week of November 2012.
