US-based Caza Oil & Gas has commenced production at the daily rate of 334 barrels of oil and 337,000ft³ of natural gas in the Lennox State Unit 32 number 2H horizontal Bone Spring well in Lee County, New Mexico.

The well has been placed on artificial lift to recover frac fluids and establish stabilised flow rates of oil and natural gas.

The company holds a 40% working interest before payout and a 50% working interest after payout in the Lennox State Unit 32 number 2H well, while also participating with a 50% working interest in all wells drilled on the Lennox property.

The log data and core samples from Brushy Canyon, Avalon and second bone spring sand intervals of the Caza Ridge 14 State number 4H well have indicated the presence of oil and natural gas.

The company plans to drill at the lateral section of the well in the third Bone Spring sand interval, which is producing oil and natural gas.

Caza holds a 58.75% working interest in the Caza Ridge 14 State number 4H well.

Caza Oil & Gas CEO W Michael Ford said the Lennox State Unit 32 number 4H well will target the third bone spring sand interval, which is expected to commence drilling operations by the end of this year.

"We are pleased to report that the Caza Ridge 14 State number 4H well has reached the lateral kick-off point and log and core data have confirmed the presence of oil and natural gas in the shallower sections of the well," he added.

"We are currently preparing to drill the lateral section of the well in the third bone spring sand, which has proven to be a good producer of oil and natural gas in the offset Caza Ridge 14 State number 3H well."

The company’s subsidiary Caza Petroleum carries out acquisition, exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons in the Permian Basin, Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast in the US.
