Genel Energy and its joint venture partner DNO International are preparing to test observed oil shows at the Peshkabir-1 exploration well, located on the Tawke license in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Norwegian oil and gas firm DNO has completed drilling the well and has observed a continuous hydrodynamic column in three potentially producing intervals, including the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic intervals.
DNO International executive chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani said: "We continue on track to establish 100,000 barrels per day of deliverability from the Tawke license before year end."
The Peshkabir-1 well was spud to a total depth of 4,092m, targeting a large undrilled feature to the west of the currently producing Tawke field.
Wireline logging and coring operations are being carried out, after which a minimum of five planned flow tests, two in the Triassic, one in the Jurassic and two in the Cretaceous, will be undertaken.

By GlobalDataDNO also announced that the Tawke-15 well has now tested 7,000 barrels of oil a day following a workover operation.
The company is drilling a third well, the Tawke-14, to a target depth of more than 2,665m and has now reached a depth of 1,800m.
The well is designed to confirm and delineate the potential of the Cretaceous in an untested up-structure location.
DNO International is the operator of the Tawke field with a 55% stake, while Genel Energy holds a 25% interest and the Kurdistan Regional Government a 20% interest.
