FES International will supply about 50 DBSCs and ancillary equipment to the central processing facility and the floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
The company will produce and deliver DBSCs in phases between October 2013 and September 2014.
In December 2010, FES International started pursuing the contract, as a part of which it has to design the DBSCs for a subsea service life spanning 40 years.
FES International managing director, Rob Anderson, said that the company’s solution needs to be more strong and resistant to corrosion, marine growth and calcareous deposits, keeping in mind the long life of the project, making it technically challenging.

By GlobalDataThe gas produced from the Ichthys field in the Browse Basin, which is about 200km offshore of Western Australia, will have to go through initial processing offshore to eliminate water and extract condensate.
The project is expected to produce 8.4 million tonnes of LNG, 1.6 million tonnes of LPG each year, along with about 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
Later, the processed gas will be supplied to onshore processing facilities in Darwin through an 889km subsea pipeline.
McDermott is the main contractor of the Ichthys LNG SURF field development project.
The project is jointly operated by INPEX, the operator, TOTAL and other participants.
