India’s natural gas transmission company Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL) and three oil companies, have inked a joint venture deal to build three cross-country natural gas transmission pipeline projects.

The pipelines will run 3,995km across Indian states including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharasthra, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir.
GSPL will lead the consortium with a 52% stake while Indian Oil Corp will hold a 26% stake and Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation will hold an 11% stake each.
The consortium partners received authorisation last year from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) for executing the project.
The three pipelines are estimated to have initial capacity to carry around 95 million cubic meters per day of gas, and are expected to be completed within three years from the date of award, reports PTI.
