The automation system will maintain safety and help the refinery improve process performance in addition to reducing costs.

Experion HS focuses on the refinery’s 1.5 million tonnes per year AT-5 crude distillation unit and supports up to 8,000 input / output (I/O) points, ten operator stations, and various network servers and nodes.

HPS Russia sales leader Alexei Zenkevich said: “Experion HS enables us to bring many of the benefits of our flagship control system, Experion PKS process knowledge system (PKS), but with a smaller footprint, to those customers who need out-of-the-box functionality.”

Experion HS consists of a subset of Experion PKS components that have been combined to provide a targeted system for small to medium automation projects.
