InterOil has said that it is currently undertaking wireline logging at the Antelope-3 well in Papua New Guinea, which has also attained its total depth.
A preliminary wireline log test conducted by Schlumberger suggests that Antelope-3 holds a carbonate reservoir which includes limestone and dolomite and has a similar reefal reservoir character and quality as the offset Antelope-1 and Antelope-2 wells.

Initial analysis showed that Antelope-3 shares the same water contact with the other two wells at 2,228m below sea level.
The top of the reservoir was encountered at 1,624m measured depth in the well, equivalent to a true vertical depth of 1,527m below sea level, equating to a hydrocarbon column height of about 701m.
Antelope-3 well is the tallest vertical column drilled in the Antelope field and plans are underway to complete the wireline logging programme in the well before starting production.
InterOil CEO Phil E. Mulacek said that the company successfully completed drilling of the sixth well in the Elk and Antelope fields, confirming the continuity of the reservoir.

By GlobalData"Confirmation of continuous reefal reservoir at the Antelope-3 location, in conjunction with PNG’s Cabinet approval for the Gulf LNG project and growing provincial and landowner support, has allowed us to focus on finalising our partnering process," added Mulacek.
The company has extended the dates in the LNG project deals with Mitsui and Energy World to provide flexibility in partner selection and final investment decision (FID).
InterOil has also amended the joint venture operating deal and associated agreements with Mitsui for the proposed condensate stripping plant (CSP), extending the time period available for FID.
