Intetech will partner with Tullow Oil to present a joint paper examining the tubing life-extension project at Tullow Oil’s Bangora Field in Bangladesh.
The paper will be presented at the 15th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) which will be held from 11-14 November 2012.

Intetech corrosion and materials engineer Mike Billingham, and Tullow Oil senior well engineer Brian King, are expected to showcase how the corrosion modelling project will deliver substantial cost savings while reducing risk.
In a separate session, Mike Billingham will also present a paper on ‘Case Histories of Life Cycle Well Integrity Management Using iWIT Software’, which will demonstrate the full range of capabilities enabled by Intetech’s well toolkit (iWIT) solution.
The Intetech / Tullow Oil joint paper will show how a combination of interpretation, analysis and powerful predictive modelling will enable an accurate prediction of the rate of corrosion in down hole completions.
READ Cased Hole international business development manager, Andrew Murray, also provided vital inspection and survey data analysis to the paper.

By GlobalDataIntetech director, Dr Liane Smith said, "We look forward to once again showcasing our technical capabilities in Abu Dhabi. Each case history that Mike will be presenting provides operators and stakeholders with a unique and useful insight into the myriad and complex problems that iWIT has successfully been able to solve."
Billingham said the company is a specialist in the identification of the causes of tubing corrosion.
"Drawing on the findings of the project, where Intetech was able to quantify the extensive corrosion of production tubing within a short period of production, the paper details the project’s progress from implementation to the identification of technical benefits, including the cost savings that can be realised by being able to safely defer the time of a well workover in a location where workover equipment is not readily available," said Billingham.
"Modelling and direct measurement of corrosion rates at Tullow Oil’s Bangora Field showed a good level of agreement and this has given confidence to the life of the completion in relation to the rate of corrosion before expected failure."
Intetech is a provider of well integrity management solutions and Tullow Oil, is a major independent oil and gas exploration and production group.
