Chevron is the operator of the $29bn Wheatstone Project, which involves the construction of two LNG trains and a domestic gas plant 12km west of Onslow, on the Pilbara coast.

Gas will be transported through a pipeline, from an offshore processing platform, to the onshore facilities for processing.

The first two LNG trains will be supplied with gas from the Chevron-operated Wheatstone and Iago fields and will have a combined capacity of 8.9 million tons a year.

The first LNG shipments are scheduled for 2016.
