Oil and gas producer Petrom has commissioned the modernised crude vacuum distillation unit at its Petrobrazi refinery in Romania.
The company invested €100m in the project in 2009, when modernisation works started, and the commissioning was completed during the scheduled general shutdown which began in May 2012.

Unit modernisation was mainly aimed at the technical adjustment in order to process the entire domestic crude production and improve the energy efficiency.
Petrom added Petrobrazi refinery resumed operations this week after a six-week shutdown.
Petrom executive board member, responsible for refining and marketing, Neil Anthony Morgan commented on the project, "It was a great challenge, probably the most complex operation in the recent history of Petrobrazi refinery. Around 4,500 people from more than 100 companies, direct suppliers and subcontractors, performed around 60 projects to successfully finalise, in record time, the commissioning of the unit."
