
India-based Reliance Gas Pipelines (RGPL) has secured a licence to build a new pipeline to transport coal bed methane gas (CBM) from Sohagpur block in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) sanctioned the pipeline, which will be build from Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh to Phulpur near Allahabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The 312km pipeline will run through Jaysinghnagar, Beohari and Gurh.
It will supply approximately 4.3 million standard cubic metres of gas a day (MMSCMD), and also includes open access of 0.875 MMSCMD capacity for third parties.
The pipeline is expected to be connected with state-owned gas utility GAIL India’s Hazira-Vijaypur-Jagdishpur trunk gas pipeline at Phulpur.
RIL plans to produce approximately 3.5 MMSCMD of gas from its CBM blocks in Shahdol by 2015.
