UK-based RusPetro has announced that its latest exploration well, located in Krasnoleninsk oilfield in the Khanty-Mansyisk region of the West Siberian basin in Russia, is expected to reach its target depth this month.
The company has spudded delineation well 4158 targeting Lower and Middle Jurassic siltstones at 2760m.

Meanwhile, well 1004 was drilled to the target depth of 2,941m and reported positive production test results with 700 barrels per day of oil from a Jurassic zone in an extended well test.
Well 244 from pad 21 in the basin was drilled to a target depth of 2,843m and perforated 24m interval in the prolific Jurassic UK 2-3 zones.
RusPetro has also spudded deviated well 245 targeting the prolific UK2-3 play and expects to reach the target depth of 2,480m in early April.
The company is now mobilising additional rigs in the western and northeast areas of the field which will target bottom-hole locations in the UK 8-10 in sands similar to those found in well 1004.
