The contract was awarded for the Berri increment programme.

Saudi Aramco proposes to build new facilities at its existing plants in Abu Ali and Khursaniya. These new facilities will process increased output of Arabian Light crude from the Berri field, which is located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia.

The services offered by SNC-Lavalin include front-end engineering design (FEED) for a new 250,000 barrels of oil per calendar day of gas oil separation plant at the existing Abu Ali Gas Plant.

The scope of the contract also covers additional facilities at the Khursaniyah Gas Plant where 40 million barrels per day of hydrocarbon condensate will be processed as part of the Berri crude increment programme.

As per the contract, Saudi Aramco may enlist the help of SNC-Lavalin to provide technical support services during the construction phase.

The FEED project is scheduled to begin this month and the pre-EPC construction stage services are expected to be completed by August 2018.
