As part of the project, the combined refining capacities of the company’s Mina Al Ahmadi (MAA) and Mina Abdullah (MAB) Refineries will be increased and production of environment-friendly products would be improved through bottom-of-barrel processing using new technologies.

The project also involves linking the two refineries into a single refining complex.

"With Satorp, Yasref, Petro Rabigh and now with KNPC Project in Kuwait, we have become a major player in downstream activities in the Middle East."

Further performance towards operational safety and energy conservation would be improved.

Under the five-year contract, Spie Oil & Gas will provide commissioning management and support services at both MAA and MAB refineries.
