British High Commissioner to Australia Paul Madden said around 60 British companies will attend the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition this year which is the largest ever group of companies to represent the UK at this event.
"The UK is already the second largest foreign direct investor in Australia and UK goods exports to Australia increased 32% year on year in 2011," Madden added.
"The Prime Minister, David Cameron, saw the scale of the opportunities in Australia and Western Australia when he visited for CHOGM late last year and I think I can safely say that the British commitment to oil and gas in Australia will continue to strengthen."
The programme will also help increase British investment in Australia, backing up key players in many of Australia’s largest LNG projects.
