Wood Group-CCC (WGCCC), owned by Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), has received a commissioning services contract from Shell Iraq Petroleum (Shell).
The contract is valid for one year and effective from June 2013.

As part of the deal, WGCCC will commission the first phase of the Majnoon field near Basra in southern Iraq.
WGCCC will provide skilled resources, tools, services and test equipment, to support start-up, commissioning and testing of the new production facilities in the Majnoon field.
The new production facilities will feature well site facilities, a central production facility and new-build facilities and utilities required to operate the field, which includes pipelines and infrastructure.
The Majnoon field is expected to hold about 38 billion barrels of oil, according to the Iraqi government.

By GlobalDataWGCCC board director and WGPSN’s Middle East director, David Buchan, said the company will support Shell to start-up and commission the facilities until it achieves steady state operations and begins operations in the Majnoon field.
"This is a significant contract for WGCCC and marks our continued expansion across the Middle East," Buchan added.
"We are currently deploying up to 200 new personnel to service the contract, demonstrating the strength of WGCCC’s ability to make expertise available to our customers’ wherever they need it."
Shell Iraq Petroleum is the operator of the project, while Petronas and Iraqi Ministry of Oil are the other partners.
Wood Group provides engineering, production support, maintenance management and industrial gas turbine overhaul and repair services to the oil and gas and power generation industries.
