Hägglunds Drives is a global market leader in hydraulic drive systems intended for low speed and high torque applications.
Hydraulic drive systems are used in a wide range of industries, for example in mining, recycling, pulp and paper, rubber and plastics, offshore, fishing, building and construction.
Our drive systems contain a hydraulic motor, power unit and a control system.
Hägglunds hydraulic drive systems are engineered to perform under severe conditions and to provide reliable power to vital marine applications above or below water around the world.
Robust design, precise control and reliability are key considerations. Our compact hydraulic motors are used on research ships, large crane vessels, pipe/laying and oil exploration vessels, as well as on jack-up rigs and semi-submersible applications.
Our reliable hydraulic drives provide simple, highly efficient direct drives which often completely eliminate gearboxes so saving valuable space. In addition we supply power units, controls, piping and expert technical support and services. The Viking motor provides the best tension control available for winches.
The group's operations are carried on in three business areas: industrial, marine and offshore and mobile (building and construction). System sales account for around half of total sales, after-market services for just over one-third and component sales for the remainder.
The group has sales of approximately 1.5 BSEK and just over 700 employees. Around two-thirds of new sales are to OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and one-third to end users. Production is concentrated in Mellansel in Sweden.
The group has subsidiaries in 16 countries with personnel in over 20 countries with approximately 50 sales- and service offices. In addition, there are distributors in around 20 countries.
The largest geographical markets are Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.
